Cancer Pain

affects about 90% of cancer patients and can result from several different factors, such as the type or stage of the cancer or blocked blood vessels or never pressure from a tumor. Psychological or emotional problems and infection or inflammations can also attribute to the cause of cancer pain.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

is a rare and chronic disorder most commonly affecting the legs or arms and women more than men. Change in body temperature, sweating, burning and swelling can all be factors of the affected area. The cause of this syndrome is also unclear.

Diabetic Neuropathy

are disorders affecting the feet and legs, caused by damage done to the nerves from diabetes. Loss of feeling in the patients feet are common, making it hard to detect injuries and becoming more vulnerable to infection.

Myofascial Pain Syndrome

is chronic muscle pain affecting the fascia, connective tissue that covers the muscles. The source of the pain can spread to other areas due to the injury or strain developing a trigger point.

Post-Herpetic Neuralgia

is a painful condition that can arise after an outbreak of the Shingles. The blisters and rash may heal, but severe pain is still felt throughout the body. Early treatment with medications or injections usually results in better pain control.

Post-Mastectomy Pain Syndromes

are a group of pain syndromes found in women who have undergone breast cancer treatment. The pain is mostly found in the surgical scar, chest wall and upper arm. Shoulder discomfort and breast sensations and pain also occur.

Post-Thoracotomy Pain

is a neuropathic pain resulting from surgical trauma or fibrosis of the intercostals nerves. Early treatment with medications or injections usually results in better pain control.

Sacroiliac Disorders

Pain is generated from the sacroiliac joint. Symptoms include low back pain, but the pain may also be referred to the thighs.

Shingles

is a painful skin rash which occurs from the reactivation of the chicken pox virus along nerve roots.

Vertebral (Spinal) Compression Fractures

occur from either trauma, osteoporosis (bone thinning), or spread of tumor to the spine.
